Bloefield stopped attacking vir

My last game I noticed my bloefield stopped attacking vir even though he was in range, like right next to it. It this a bug or supposed to happen?

He was still attacking. You can see it on the bonus time it generated and the money you lost. The animation was just not shown. I think because there is a cap on visible effects on screen and mr.iron reached that cap so blofeld was not shown.
